How to create an event with ticket price variants?

Introduction

The ticket variants event allows you to create ticket price variants on multiple levels.

Depending on the selected variant list type, the user will be able to select only a single variant ticket or multiple variant tickets during registration:

  • Variants in the form of a drop-down list - during registration, the user can buy only one ticket variant
  • Variants in the form of a set of variants - during registration, the user can buy multiple ticket variants

Step 1 - Create an event

In the event editing in the "Settings" tab, select the event type: "ticket variant event". Publish the event. This cannot be a draft event. The event can remain in "Hidden" status.

Scenario:

  1. Create attributes
  2. Create variants based on attributes
  3. Select variant list type

Step 2 - Create Attributes

In the same "Settings" tab, new settings will appear almost at the very bottom, where you need to add attributes. Then based on the attributes you will create ticket variants. And then choose the type of variant list.

Example

  • Click "Add attribute"
  • Enter the attribute name: e.g. sector
The attribute name must be 1 word consisting of only letters and numbers - no spaces, punctuation marks or special characters.
  • Enter the attribute values, e.g. Sector 1, Sector 2, Sector 3
These values will later be the names of the ticket variants.
  • Tick the checkbox "Use for ticket variants"
  • Click "Save attribute"

This way you can create multiple attributes.

Step 3 - Create Ticket Variants

Create ticket variants based on attributes:

  • Select "Create variants from all attributes" from the list
  • Click "Go"

Don't create a single ticket variant, create variants with all possible attribute options. Otherwise, all your participants will be assigned to the same single ticket variant and you won't have information about the ticket options they selected.

Step 4 - Edit Ticket Variants

It is mandatory that each ticket variant has a defined regular price. The remaining settings are optional.

When you click on a variant, its settings will expand. After you finish editing the variants, click "Save changes" to save the changes to the entire event.
