We care about digital accessibility

1. We review and improve content published by the organizer on the event website for compliance with WCAG principles

Shortly after the organizer publishes a new event, we review the added event description for compliance with WCAG principles.

We improve event descriptions without altering the content, whenever possible. Sometimes, slight reformulation or structure changes are necessary.

The event description we have verified and, if necessary, corrected has the status „The description has been verified: WCAG compliant” displayed when editing the event description.

Furthermore, we have reviewed and improved all events that have already taken place.

Digital accessibility is a „team game”!

2. We have prepared instructions for adding content in accordance with WCAG

We have prepared a guide for organizers dodawanie opisyevent. Page opens in a new window, which discusses all the content creation structures available on our website.

These instructions may also prove helpful in other contexts where content needs to be prepared in accordance with WCAG principles.

Education and awareness building – these are the added value of this endeavor!

3. We have encoded special auxiliary shordcodes

Since adding content properly is a significant challenge, we have prepared special shortcodes to help you quickly and easily add content that is often quite difficult, such as a phone number or email address.

Using short codes for the aforementioned contact information offers three benefits:

  • The phone number and email address are displayed as an active hyperlink, allowing you to launch the default app on your device to contact you through your chosen channel.
  • Short codes automatically add the necessary messages for screen readers.
  • The contact information is encoded to make it difficult for bots to copy it.

Sometimes you can kill several things with one stone!

4. Additional features to facilitate adding content to the event description

Markdown can be used in the event description. The content editor takes Markdown markup language syntax into account.

We’ve secured the content editor so that when pasting text from an external source, the source text formatting is cut off.

If there’s anything else we can do for you, let us know!

5. Event ticket in two forms

After purchasing a ticket or registering for a free event, attendees receive a ticket in two forms:

  • a PDF ticket (not accessible by screen readers)
  • a text-only ticket (HTML), which is fully accessible by screen readers

Where we encountered system limitations, we implemented an alternative solution!

6. Digital accessibility of the website in light and dark mode

We ensure the website’s digital accessibility in two variants: light and dark mode. The mode setting on your device or browser affects the website’s display in the desired mode.

Many people use dark mode, appreciating minimal stimuli.

7. We implement changes and fixes quickly

We’ve dedicated a lot of time and energy to ensuring our entire website is digitally accessible (compliant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA). We also understand that digital accessibility is a multi-threaded process, so if you spot an error or have a suggestion for improvement, please contact us at e-mail: my@eventon.click. We’d love to hear your perspective and implement a suitable solution to any difficulties you encounter while using our website.

We pay attention to every detail!
